Omnilert has been named a Silver Stevie® Award winner for Company of the Year in Artificial Intelligence in the 2026 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence.
Chosen from more than 700 nominations submitted by organizations across 37 nations, Omnilert was recognized for its continued advancement of practical, responsible artificial intelligence that helps protect communities from gun violence.
The Stevie® Award highlights Omnilert’s AI-powered Gun Detect technology, which transforms existing security cameras from passive monitoring tools into proactive threat detection systems. The technology can identify visible firearms in seconds, route potential threats for rapid human verification, and initiate automated response workflows based on an organization’s established policies.
Advancing AI for Real-World Public Safety
Artificial intelligence can help organizations identify potential threats sooner, but detection alone is not the outcome. Safety technology must also give people timely, actionable information and support a fast, coordinated response.
Omnilert connects AI-powered gun detection with human verification, emergency communications, and automated response. Once a potential threat is verified, workflows may include:
- Alerting security teams and first responders
- Sending emergency notifications
- Activating access control actions
- Sharing verified incident details and location information
- Initiating other protective measures
Innovation Built Around Real-World Outcomes

The Silver Stevie® Award reflects more than the capabilities of Omnilert’s software. It recognizes the real-world impact of the company’s technology and the progress made through rapid innovation and deployment over the past two years.
Several milestones contributed to the recognition.
Greater AI Scalability
The launch of Omnilert’s third-generation AI delivered a 10x improvement in hardware efficiency. This allows schools, enterprises, and other organizations to monitor significantly more camera streams per server without sacrificing performance.
The added efficiency helps organizations expand proactive threat detection across more of their existing camera environments while reducing the need for additional hardware.
Full DHS SAFETY Act Designation
Omnilert also earned full SAFETY Act Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The designation provides significant external validation of the maturity, credibility, and public safety value of Omnilert’s technology and recognizes it as a designated anti-terrorism technology
Supporting Communities Through Safety Grants

Omnilert’s work also extends to communities that may face financial barriers to adopting advanced safety technology.
In 2025, the company launched the Secure Schools grant program to support under-resourced campuses and the Safe Haven grant initiative for communities previously affected by gun violence. The Safe Haven initiative included a three-year deployment in Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District.
These programs reflect Omnilert’s commitment to making proactive safety technology available to communities where it can have a meaningful impact.
A Data-Centric Approach to AI
Omnilert takes a data-centric approach to developing and improving its AI.
Rather than relying primarily on synthetic images, the company continuously refines its neural network using carefully curated, organic video from real-world environments. This approach helps improve reliability and reduce false alarms across the changing lighting, camera angles, distances, backgrounds, and activity found in live security-camera settings.
Recognition for the Entire Omnilert Team
More than 180 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process for this year’s Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence.
For Omnilert, the award reflects the work of teams across engineering, product development, customer success, sales, marketing, operations, and leadership. It also reflects the input and trust of the customers and partners who help shape how the technology is deployed in real-world environments.
The 2026 Stevie® Award winners will be honored during an awards ceremony on October 28, 2026, at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse in Paris, France.
