The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) will begin using Omnilert’s AI-powered gun detection system to monitor campus cameras, three years after the Robb Elementary tragedy. Donated as part of our Safe Haven Grant Program, the technology and services are being offered free of charge for the next three years.
The Safe Haven Grant Program was created to support districts that have been impacted by gun violence or where proactive safety technology is inaccessible, and Uvalde CISD is its first recipient. The goal of the grant is to transform existing security technology into proactive tools for preventing tragedies, rather than only serving investigative purposes afterward. Our AI Gun Detect technology, which enhances school safety by providing constant surveillance and real-time video analysis for firearm detection, will be integrated into the school district’s security system.
Omnilert CEO Dave Fraser spoke with KXAN Anchor Tom Miller about the partnership with Uvalde CISD. To read the full interview in The Hill and learn more, click here.
