Solution for Campus Safety Pushes Emergency Alerts to LED Displays

Inova Solutions LED wallboard joins Omnilert Network to increase campus safety

LAS VEGAS, NV -- From the exhibit hall of ACUTA 2008, Omnilert™, LLC, maker of e2Campus™, the leading emergency notification network for higher education, announced a new campus security solution that displays alerts on scrolling LED signs. These highly visible LED displays are powered by their network connection using standard Power over Ethernet (POE) technology. Omnilert compatible LED displays are sold by Inova Solutions, Inc.

“LED signs are notifications you can’t ignore,” says Gerry Gorman, Vice President at Inova Solutions. “You don’t need to sign up or subscribe to anything to read it. They communicate emergency information in areas of high noise with crisp clear messages. They are also considered a green technology as they use less than 12 watts of power and provide a valuable service as network clocks when there are no informational or emergency messages to display.”

It is now possible for authorized school officials to issue emergency alerts that simultaneously reach LED displays for all campus visitors to see, in addition to high power speaker arrays, PA systems, LCD/plasma signage, alert beacons, web pages, personal and school email accounts, RSS readers, home/office phones, and cell phones as a text message. There is no extra cost for Omnilert clients to push content to these LED signs. Institutions can purchase the wall-mounted LED displays from Inova Solutions by contacting Ted Throckmorton at 434-951-8136 or by visiting www.inovasolutions.com.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) LED Displays

Inova Solutions’ OnAlert™ PoE LED displays deliver synchronized time and emergency or non-emergency messages across a campus in one simple appliance. They plug directly into a standard Ethernet jack to obtain messaging, time and power from a single network connection, so no AC outlets are needed. The system can support redundant power via UPS in the com room. Alerts can be sent to the displays from Omnilert via Inova’s Emergency Email Interface (EEI) software. These PoE appliances carry the CE Mark and are RoHS compliant. List price is $1,495. Volume discounts are available.
