An Illinois school district is one of the 20 selected recipients for Omnilert’s Secure Schools Grant Program, which aims to improve safety at K-12 schools nationwide through the donation of Omnilert’s AI-powered Gun Detect technology. By leveraging AI algorithms that analyze live surveillance feed and detect firearms, our Gun Detect offers schools an efficient and life-saving tool that enhances safety. The system can also automate the locking of doors, activate alarms, and share critical visuals and location data to speed emergency response.
Omnilert is working with OLCHS to integrate the technology into the district’s existing security network over the 2025-26 school year. This includes training administrators and security staff on how to optimize the system and providing free maintenance and technical support. The grant will provide the district with a three-year license for our Gun Detect, at no cost.
