In Virginia, state leaders performed a natural disaster preparedness drill to evaluate how emergency responders would react during a tornado. According to The Associated Press, the exercise took place on March 12, 2013, and was completed as part of a collaborative initiative between Virginia administrators, emergency management personnel and the National Weather Service.
The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE Act) recently signed into law represents the most sweeping reform of federal guidelines in two decades to affect colleges and universities handling of sexual misconduct. A free webinar presented by S. Daniel Carter, one of the advocates who helped develop the Act, will offer insights into how to comply with the law’s new expanded reporting, prevention, and victims’ rights standards to better prevent and respond to sex crimes on campus.
