Omnilert announces Facebook integration

Enables Omnilert customers to post alerts to their Facebook pages automatically.

From booth #1450 at EDUCAUSE 2008, Omnilert is now integrated with Facebook. This enables Omnilert clients to post alerts automatically and simultaneously to their Facebook without having to login into their Facebook separately.

“This is one less thing that schools have to worry about when managing a crisis or emergency,” stated Ara Bagdasarian, President of Omnilert, LLC. “We have heard through anecdotal evidence that students check their school’s Facebook Page for updates regarding ongoing emergencies. Yet many school administrators don’t even know what a Facebook Page is. If the school is not posting updates on their official Facebook Page, then someone else is posting updates on an unofficial Facebook Page, and that is not a good position for the school to be in. Omnilert has now bridged this social media gap. We look forward to helping schools increase their campus safety and communications with this latest edition to our simultaneous multimodal notifications.”

With more than 110 million active users, Facebook is the fourth-most trafficked website in the world. Facebook gives users the power to share with the people they care about – making the world more open and transparent.
