e2Campus Now Broadcasts Public Address Announcements
to Whelen Outdoor Loudspeaker Systems
Centralized interface pushes emergency announcements
to visitors, students, faculty and staff in more ways than any other
solution available
RICHMOND, VA August 13, 2007 From the Governors
Campus Security Conference, Omnilert, LLC, maker of the leading
emergency notification system for higher education called e2Campus,
today announced a partnership with Whelen Engineering to enable the
e2Campus emergency alert system to broadcast voice announcements over
Whelen Mass Outdoor Notification Systems. This new integration gives
campus administrators a centralized interface for announcing emergency
information to campus loudspeakers, digital signs, alert beacons,
websites, phones, mobile phones, e-mail accounts, and RSS readers
accessible to visitors, students, faculty and staff.
The new service enables authorized administrators to use a net-connected
mobile phone or PC from any location on or off campus to produce live
public address announcements on wall-mounted or roof-mounted outdoor
loudspeakers, PA systems, or giant voice systems. Anyone
within earshot of the loudspeaker will hear the message, regardless
of opting in to the e2Campus system. Certain systems can be heard
from a mile away.
Availability and Pricing
This new outdoor mass notification voice system is available immediately.
The e2Campus Text service costs about $1 per user per year, depending
on the total number of recipients to be covered and e2Campus Voice
service plans start at $841 per year. Whelen outdoor public address
systems can be purchased for as low as $5,000. Current e2Campus customers
should contact e2Campus for the Voice service upgrade and then contact
Whelen for details to install outdoor loudspeakers on their campus.
Current Whelen customers should contact e2Campus to learn how they
can setup an integrated mass notification system in less than a day.
About e2Campus
Endorsed by Security On Campus Inc. and used by schools around the
country, e2Campus is the Web-based emergency notification system that
enables school officials to self-administer and send time-sensitive
messages for a fraction of the cost and complexity of existing notification
solutions. There is no traditional software to install, no hardware
to buy and no additional phone lines needed. A school can set up a
secure notification system in minutes to send routine, urgent or emergency
notifications to their entire campus community or smaller groups,
such as multiple campuses, residence halls, staff-only or sports news.
e2Campus instantly and simultaneously sends mass alerts to a subscriber's
mobile phone (via SMS text message), e-mail accounts, RSS reader,
and handset phone (via text-to-voice), plus all campus loudspeakers,
digital signage, alert beacons, and relevant Web pages. To learn more,
